Meet the Artist behind The Botanical Collection - a Collaboration with Covered Wallpaper

MEET MEREDITH MEJERLE RUSH

"After receiving my BFA in Art from The University of Georgia, I spent the next five years surrounding myself with flowers and other natural elements curating and composing unique compositions in a three dimensional matter. My experience studying organic lines within these compositions inspired me to create abstract and minimal line drawings--layering colors, lines and textures as if each composition was a landscape within itself. My art focuses on capturing the movement and intimate details in the natural world to represent brief moments in time."

When Meredith and I met years ago at one of her art shows, we knew we wanted to work together.  Covered was just starting to sort out how our collaborations might work and Meredith had been wanting to put her art to wallpaper.  We had coffee and began the conversation of this collaboration.  Two years went by, we kept in touch, kept talking, kept dreaming, and in 2021 *finally* launched The Botanical Collection with Meredith Mejerle.  Meredith is truly the kindest, nicest person.  Her love of nature and floristry shines through in the beauty of her work and we are thrilled to continue our collaboration with her.

We started our collaboration with two designs Posy and Poppy in black and white, dove blue, and have since added  a grasscloth option.  We were so pleased by the reception of these wallpapers and introduced a few springy colorways.

The two new designs feature Meredith's first hand-drawn bouquet.  This launch features modern heritage designs.  Wildflowers is a small print pattern intended to evoke warm memories of wildflower meadows of the english countryside, and childhood bouquets proudly picked for your mother. Wildflower Stripe has a nostalgic feel of years gone by, but is presented in a fresh way which compliments, but does not overwhelm a room, maintaining the lush yet minimal feel of Meredith's artwork.
